Yes, this is a bold topic. I am so
tired of the articles put out by the propagandists
extolling the virtues and saintliness’ of the non-
profit credit counseling industry, tha this article
had to be written.
They would have you believe that only a non-profit
credit counseling program can review your budget, and find
a real solution to your debt problems. Really? As a former regional
manager of a national non-profit, allow me to set the record straight.
Non- profits are completely in the pocket of the banks.
You know which pocket that is? It's the one where you keep
your money clip. The truth is, it is the banks that conceived
of this industry as a way of limiting out and out defaults
of credit card holders, after they raped consumers with those
29.99% interest rates. The idea was, after ripping you off
for years at the high interest rate, they were happy to get
your money through a non-profit, whom they would pay for
every dollar collected, as long as that money kept coming.
That's right. The non-profits survive only at the will
of the banks. This is one of the big reasons you read
so much negative information about the debt Settlement industry.
The banks cannot control it, nor do they benefit by it.
It would be an eye opening experience to know the salaries of
some of the directors of the non profits. Believe me that money
is not coming from charitable donations for the wonderful work
with the poor which they so valiently perform.
OK, so , do I believe non-profits serve any good.?
Of course,Debt Management Program
can be a lifesaver for some.
But, what about when a person is months into collection? They
are completely impotent to help. What about when a person needs a
Bankruptcy, but the new laws will not allow for bankruptcy relief?
The debt relief industry has evolved out of necessity into companies
that are capable of offering multiple debt relief solutions to consumers.
And what a wonderful thing that is, for the consumer.
These companies will analyze a persons budget, and situation, just
as the non-profits do, and are capable of implementing the
best resolution for the consumer. The counseling is free, and they
are paid not by the consumer.
So, consider these things the next time you read
something negative about a for profit company that has
chosen to operate outside of the realm of banking control.
